YOUNG LADY TRIBE TO EUICIDE.
While Deranged Mlee Belle Nlohole
Attempt* to Slay H*raelf.
Grorer, N. C., Feb. 6.—-Miss Belle
Nichols, a well-known young lady of
this place, attempted to commit
suicide yesterday. The effort at self-
destruction was due to a lit of mental
derangement to which she has been
subject for several months. Miss
Nichols had been under the treatment
of physicians for the past three or
four months, but recently returned to
her father’s home near Grover, appar
ently very much Improved. Yester
day morning she borrowed her fath
er’s pocket-knife on the plea that she
wanted to trim her linger nails. A
short time afterward she mysterious
ly disappeaftd from the premises.
The alarm was sent out and a search
ing party consisting of about thirty-
five people was organized and a search
begun.
After several hours the young wo
man was found late yesterday after
noon, wandering around in a patch of
woods near town. She had cut her
left breast open, stabbed herself near
the heart and slashed herself a num
ber of times on the neck. She had
removed her shoes and had wander
ed around, apparently crazed, but
thinly clad, she was taken at once
to her home and physicians dressed
her wounds. These are not consider
ed of suffleinet seriousness to cause
death, but the doctor fears that she
has contracted pneumonia from spend
ing the day in the woods, thinly clad
and with portions of her body exposed
to the cold.

Of course you hope and believe that some day fortune is going to smile upan

T HE WHOLE COUNTRY is in the throes of an epidemic of La Grippe. Fully
half of our entiae population is now sick with colds, due to the recent bad
weather and the fact that we don’t know how to take care of ourselves. Now,
we all know what a mere cold sometimes leads to; it sometimes leads to the cem
etery. “Crip Tablets” and Nature’s Cough Remedy” are our own manu
facture. The formulas are our own. We know what we are doing when we
guarantee these two remedies, if taken together and according to the
directions on each package, to cure any case of Crip, Cough or Cold in
from six hours to three days, according to the severity of the case. While we
are aware that there are some cases that these medicines will not entirely relieve,
we wish you to remember—Your money refunded without a whimper
where not entirely satisaotory. Our Motto—“No Cure, No Pay.”
Your friends and neighbors are using “Crip Tablets” and “Nature’s
Cough Remedy.” They will tell you that they took these simple remedies
and were cured; that their families are using them with splendid results. We
can furnish hundreds of testimonials from Cherokee County as to the curing
power of these medicines; space will only allow us to give a few:]
