% l FOR 1908. On account of the advance in the cost of paper, increased wages, etc., we’ve found it necessary to announce that the price of The Ledger after January 1st, 1908, will be $1.50. We have striven to avoid taking this step and for years have furnished our readers with a semi weekly paper at a price that was indeed too low when the cost of production was taken into consideration. This step has only been determined upon after mature deliberation. Subscriptions will be re ceived at the old rate of $1.00 from now to December 31, but after that date the rate will be $1.50 in advance. Now is the time to subscribe-only $1.00 a year.
