Their verdict may be righteously pronounced as one of the most just verdicts ever i rendered. This thing of taking advan- tage of a man and shooting him down j like a dog and tht 11 trying to justify the deed by assuming the role of an injured husband seven weeks after being ap- 1 prised of the so-called injury, is carrying the thing too far. Wilkins & Co., where she will be pleased to see her many friends. Bert Porter, of Dawkins' Mill, was in the city yesterday. Stanvarne Wilson, a prominent attor ney of Spartanburg, was in the city yes- teiday. C T. Barnett leaves today for Atlanta , where he will spend several days. Roy Davis has returned from James town where he visited the exposition. II. E. DePass, of the Spartanburg bar, was in the city yesterday. Mr. T B. Moselej arid wife, who have been visiting Dr Simms and family, went to Atlanta last Friday with their youngest Ooy to have a surgical operation per formed on his throat. A. W. Folgerand family arrived in the city yesterday and will reside in Gaffney in the iuture. Mr. Folger will resume his position in the post office. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Lipscomb and Mr. Maynard Smyth are back from the Bank ers Convention at the Isle of Palms. They had a most delightful time. Mrs. Bettie Cobb, of Charlotte, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ed. H DeCamp, returned to the Queen City yesterday. Miss Isla and Nettie McKenzie, o Marion, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Lipscomb. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Fowler, of York- ' ville, spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs J. N. Lipscomb. Tho-e who atleuded services at Mt. The fr ends of Mr. and Mrs. S. R Suber gathered at their home Sunday afternoon to christen the new baby—Zaki Annie Suber. The ceremony was per formed by Father Murphy, of Greenville, who explained in detail the ceremony in English before performing it in Latin. It was intensely interesting as weli as instructive. Father Murphy is a polished ge tleman, a genial soul ana added much to the occasou by his pres ence. After the ceremony a delicious and appetising diunes was spread for the ? ;uests.
