In the death of John Wakefield
Jones. Gaffney loses one °f her old
est aid most highly respected citi-
«ens. He was a good man in the
truest sense of the word. He will
be missed in the family, the church
and the community. He loved every
body and was loved by everybody.
What greater honor could any man

Gaffney has quite enough sins to
answer for without the Charlotte
Chronicle laying something at her
door that belongs elsewhere. In the

85th is a dispatch from Spartanburg
telling of the shooting of a doctor
at Union by a n n gro woman at Union,
but in the headline the Chronicle
$avs it occurred at Gaffney. Take it
back! Mr. Chronicle. We have
trouble enough of our own.

Next Thursday is the day to vote
on the question of issuing school
bond*. The indications are that the
bond Issue will carrv. We an* sor
