Eldredge. the Impersonator.
Mr. Eldredge who comes to the
Star Theatre on March 10th, is the
third number of the Star Course at
tractions. He presents a widely
varied, artistic and popular reper-
toire of costumed interpretations of
a high order, changng quickly from
humorous to pathetic and from dra
matic to sentimental representations.
It is our privilege and pleasure to
announce the to the amusement lov
ing public that Mr Eldrige stands to
day one of the most practical v cer
tain attractions on the platform.
During the last two years he has
filled more than two hundred engage
ments and we have vet to hear of an
adverse criticism. Mr. Eldredge is
in line with the tendency of his time
and is ever on the ? art to meet the
demands of the public for generous,
clean, and thorougly satisfactory
amusements. His line of work reach
es all clases. from those who like
♦he subtle humor of good old “David
Harum” to the tragedy of "Julius
Caesar.’ - We bespeak for him that
degree of consideration which we
know his merits deserve, and com
mend him to the Star Course patrons
and others.
Mr. Opie Read recommends Mr.
i Eldredge, and this should be Enough
j to justify his being greeted with a

An Ovation to Miss Dew.
Without, disparging the work or
the popularity of either of the other
members of the Limestone musica'
faculty, it mav ho said that the main
feature of last Monday night’s music
al recital at Limestone Co'lege. was
the splendid ovation given bv the au
dience to Miss Mary Alice Dew, one
of tlic members of the faculty. The
storm of applause, joined in by ai
most every one present, which greet
ed her neon her appearance was al
most -deafening and continued unti
silenced by Miss Dew at the piano.
Miss Dew was only on the pro
gramme for on? number, a rather
difficult Sonata, which was splendidly
rendered bv her and at its close, she
was again overwhelmed with applaus,
fo lowed by a number of flowers and
•‘resents sent up by friends She
was forc“d to return and give anoth
er number, after which the ovation
continued until Miss Dew was forced
again to appear and how her ac
knowledgement. Miss Dew has im
pressed herself and her ability as a
performer upon the people of th“
community, and her many friends
are gratified at the esteem in which
she is evidently held.
The Indian compositions render
ed by Prof. Loring. were unique and
were enjoyed by the audience, as
w-’i as were other numbers on pro
gramme. All in all. the programme
given 1)v the faculty was up to the
usual high standard set by th music
a] faculty in their recitals.
