of the death of Mr. Oliver B. Jenkins,
of Grover, N. C., which occurred in
Chase City, Va., Tuesday. Mr. Jen
kins was well known in Gaffney and
Cherokee county. He was a man of
wealth and had large Interests In
this territory. For many years. In
fact until within the past few years
Mr. Jenkins’ chief business was that

Death of Mrs. Spencer.
Mrs. John Spencer died at her
home at Limestone mills Friday
morning about four o’clock, after an

were taken to Elbetbel church, of
which she was a member, last Sat
urday for Interment. The funeral
was conducted by Rev. E. O. Ross,
of this city. Deceased leaves a hus

children, mother, father, five sisters
and two brothers to mourn her loss.
Deputy Sheriff Durham Saves a Child.

Sheriff Charley Durham last Friday
