Death of Mr. Wm. J, Crocker.
Mr. Wm. J. Crocker died at 4 o’clocb
vesterdav morning; at his residence.
He had been in bad health for a year
nr more. Mr. /Crocker was forty el^ht

yji j was a carpenter by trade. He was a

litji | dbd in the faiih. A widow and six

Herman. Fay, Percy and Alien. The
interment will take place this morn
ing at 11 o'clock at Oakland cemetery.
Dr. A. M. Simms, of the First Baptist,
ehnroh will conduct the funeral.

Death of Miss Pearson.
Miss Carrie Pearson died at the
home of her uncle, Mr. J. E. James,
in this city, Tuesday night at 10
o’clock after an illness of about three
months. For the past five weeks
Mip- Pearson was confined to her bed.
Deceased was jujtt budding into wo
manhood, being but seventeen years
of age. She was a modest young la
dy and had a large circle of friends.
The funeral took place yesterday at
11 o’clock, the interment being at
Corinth graveyard. Rev. 13. G. Ross
conducted the funeral service

Messrs. Parker & Port received
their roller skates yesterday and
opened their rink last night. The
rink* is over J. C. Lipscomb's store
room, next to The W. C. Carpenter

The Kinq of Tramps.
The attraction at the Star Theatre
last Monday night was “The King of
| Tramps.” with Eddie Delaney in the
title role Tho plav was a comedy-
j drama and full of action whihh kept

company worked faithfully, and while

j there have also been worse ones. The
j villian was very good. The audience
i indicated its satisfaction by frequent

Death of Mrs. Byars.
On Tuesday night. January 22nd,
Mrs. Annie Byars, wife of J. J. Byars,
of this city, .died at. her home after a
long illness. She was in her twen
tieth vear. She bore her suffering j
wth Christian fortitude and has gone
to reap her reward.
