NOTICE OF SALE.
Bv virtue of a decree of foreclosure

Clifton, Nov. 28.—A few days past
have been warm and p.easant which
has been an advantage to those who
have to buy wood and coal in the
way of saving. And it is giving the
farmers a desirable time for gather
ing "the remnants,” sowing wheat
and oats, etc., and (in this vicinity)
thov are improving the opportunity.
On Sunday last. Rev. J. S. Wat
bins, of Spartanburg, preached to the
Presbyterian congregation of this
Place, and (to all others who gave
him the favor of their attention)
from the text in Hebrew 4:15, the
subject being. God’s sympathy with
man. From which he delivered a
very fine and encouraging discourse
to all who strive to gain a blest
abode. The new Presbyterian church
will soon be finished. Pastor Stev
enson wished to hold Thanksgiving
services in it on the 29th inst, but
it cannot be gotten ready for us by
that time.
The Baptists are speaking of hav
ing the First Baptist church torn
down and reconstructed, making it
of smaller dimensions. This will be
a wise step if taken, the reason why
is, they will perhaps get a new and
more substantial house and one that
'•ill fit the sizes of their congrega
tion better.
A great many people that have fin
shed gathering their crops are com-
n ,r in to work in the mill during the
inter, expecting to go back to the
•ountry next spring. Well, this is
quite a commendable move in these
neople to he trying to have employ-

will find men, who, to our knowl
