A gentleman of Gaffney who is a
n.au of remarkably keen observation,
n marked to a ledger reporter yester
day that this city has not had a clear
sunset for over two months. For the
last few days a steady drizzle lias
been the usual thing all day long.
Not a sound could lie heard yester
day morning when The Ledger repor
ter hurriea to the city court chamber
in a quest for news. Diligent search
finally disthosed that alas for the re
porter then- was none. No mayor’s
court is rapidly becoming the usual
order of things in Gaffney.
The rmbi section of train No. 37 on
yesterday established a record for

the second section of this train reach
ed Gaffm*.* one hour and thirty-three
minutes after the first had passed,
was forced to take *he siding as the
first had not reached Thickety. In
vestigation showed that parts of the
engine w >re broken and the delay
was the result. The second section
only stayed here a very short while
the oth^j train managed to go on its
