A MERRY MORNING
WITH THE MAYOR ^
Mayor’s court yesterday morning
was a scene of singular liveliness
compared to the state of lethargy into
which it has recently fallen, as a re
sult of everything sinful and pertain
ing to criminal channels making a
decision to give tribunals of justice a
wide berth. This column has had ar
ticles before on the goodness of these.
Yesterday the first of the fallen ones
appeared in the person of Missie I
Glenn, who had to answer on a charge I
of disorderly conduct. She could not j
do s- satisfactorily and was fined j
$2.50. This was promptly paid and
Missie will have another chance to
see the world from other locations
than from behind prison bars.
Following this case Perry Little and
his wife were asked for an explana
tion in regard to a misunderstanding
o— Saturday, which was again brought
to mind in the shape of a charge of
disorderly conduct appearing: on the
hook of the clerk. Both Perry and his
wife advanced explanations of the af
fair which were duly noted bv His
Honor. The trouble seems to have
started from the manner in which the
woman handled a waiter. Little ob
jected and the rucuss was the result.
It grew so heated that it was .trans
ferred from the restaurant of Little
on Frederick street, to their home.
Here the story grew exciting, with
such sensational phrases as packing
of trunks and leaving the place
thrown generously through this part
of the testimony. It was learned
from the evidence that peace had not
been restored and that strife still ex
isted in the domestic relations of the
two. Little paid a fine of one dollar.
