Spring $
Fever
Spring fever is considered a
joke—when some one else
has it—but the condition is in
reality no joke. Spring fever
is one of those terms applied
to that general relaxed con
dition of the system which is
so common at this season. It
indicates, as a rule, a loss of
vitality and a disorded condi
tion of the blood. An effec
tive remedy should be prompt
ly used, because this condi
tion readily becomes chronic.
Our Matto
Iron Tonic
Is just the remedy needed.
It aids digestion, tones up the
nervous system, purifies the
blood and increases vitality.
We are so sure that it will
give satisfaction in all cases
that we sell it under a posi
tive guarantee—your money
baok if it fails. : : : : :

Tenders a Reception to the Ladies
of Gaffney.
The Commeretel Club of Gaffney
threw open its doors on Wednesday
evening to a social event that has
not been surpassed by any similar
event in the city. The occassion was
the opening reception of the recently
organized commercial club of the
city. The reception was given in the
beautiful quarters of the club which
embrace almost the entire second
floor of the large theatre building.
The club has a large membership
and nearly all were present with a
lady contributing their share to the
general pleasure, all combining to
make the occasion one long to be re
membered as a successful social
event.
The reception committee was com
posed of Messrs. W. K. Gunter, J. F.
Carson, R. S. Lipscomb, J. C. Jef
feries and T. B Butler and these gen
tlemen succeeded in making all the
guests feel immediately at home and
became at once imbued with the
idea of having an enjoyable time
with all stiff formality left far in the
back ground. Beautiful flowers serv
ed as decorations in the different
rooms of the club, each room having
flowers to set off to the best advant
age the splendid apartments of the
club. Roses, lillies and sweet peas
were in abundance and tastefully ar
ranged, and shed their sweetness every
where. A large number of guests
were present. All expressed surprise
at the msanner in which gentlemen of
the club acted as hosts. Cream and
cake was daintlv served by charming
little Misses Sadie Lipscomb, Alma
Hamrick, Daisy Wilkins and Sarah
Carpenter. Misses Wilma Gaffney
and Jessie Lipscomb, two of the most
charming young ladies of the city,
presided gracefully over the punch
bowl.
