Yancey Hotel turned.
Livingston, Mont., April 18.—The old
Yancey hotel, located in the Yellow
stone National park, was destroyed
Tuesday. Tbe fire originated from a
defected chimney. The hotel was
founded more than twenty yeara ago by
John Yancey, who was familiarly
known as "Uncle John,” and who made
it a popular resort for tourists.
Woman Killed by Earache.
Ixmlsvllle, Ky., April 18.—As she
was being lifted from bed preparatory
to her removal to a hospital, Miss
Alice Bedinger uied suddenly Tuesday.
The attending physicians stated that
the death was due to earache, and
that the case has few, if any parallels
in medical history.

Boston, April 18.—Depositors of the
Central National bank of this city,
which failed in 1892, will receive all

San Francisco, April 18.—San Fran
cisco was practically wrecked by an
earthquake at 6:10 o'clock Wednes
day morning.
The shock lasted three minutes and
thousands of buildiugs were damaged,
and destroyed. The loss of life is
reported great. There is no water
and fires are breaking out all over the
city. All wires with the exception
of one are gone.. The city hall, cost
ing 87,000,000, is in ruins. Modern
buildings suffered le*s than the brick
and frame. *
The confusion ami excitement is in
describable. Most people were asleep,
and rushed into the streets undressed.
The buildings- swayed aud crashed,
burying the occupants. There was a
panic in the down town hotels. The
Lick House is badly damaged, but no
loss of life there is reported.
