To mj ther are dull would do them honor Cobwebs are accumulating on the walls of the medstrates offlees and the mayor’s court is almost aa bad. The visit to the aforesaid nieces yester day by the would-be news gatherer disclosed nothing absolutely In a wav that could be classed as news In any manner, shape or form, and he was forced to plod his wearv way in si lence unhonored and hardlv r^og- nlzed. To his ceaseless enquiries, “Anything doing? Anything for me?’’ Always the same answer, a word that by its frequency in being heard, has become odious and almost unbear able. “Nothing.” Yesterday there was a rumor afloat that It surely seemed would affdfRl relief to the weary and seemed that It would surely peer out like the sun from dark clouds on p* drearv day and give the scribe what he has hoped and prayed would happen and give him something to write about. It was rumored that a negro had allowed his exftbenant spirit to gain the better of him during services on the Sab bath and that he would be arrested for so doing and arrainged before the mayor on a charge of disturbing a re ligious meeting. The negro was ar rested all right .but the charge ^ not materialize in time for this issue of The Ledger, as the case was con tinued and we will have to be content with “covering” the same for anoiher Issue.
