The Globe Manufacturing Compa

the machinery necessary for Miem to

have commenced work. The buzz of
their machinery is now combined with
the buzz and verv pleasant sound of

Some comment is caused on the
streets at the handsome barrel that
now serves as an ornament on the
counter of the soda fountain at the
Cherokee Drug Company. Many is
the thirsty one that Is drawn in to in
vestigate tht contents of the invit
ing barrel. When upon enquiry they
learn that It contains beer they never
fail to quicken their steps in antici
pating of quenching their thirst with
a drink that they have not enjoyed
for some time. Whether or not they
are pleased or disappointed when they
learn that it is root beer it is impos
sible to say. Any kind of beer but a
non-Hntoxicating one is an unknown
quanity in Gaffney so the thirsty ones
must be satisfied with harmless beer
or remain thirsty.
