For a growing girl whose figure Is
yet immature, the Norfolk embodies
good style and becomingnesa.
Practical designs for school frocks
are always welcome to the motoer
who fashions her daughter’s gowns.
A simple one and also easily made is
after this style.
S nail box plaits extend from the
yoke to the bottom of the dress while
pretty buttons serve as further trim
ming A broad plait extends from the
collar, front and back, lends height to
the figure. A belt of the material
gii lies the wa'st fastening in front.
The latest muffs are large, pillow
shaped, and hollowed out at the top.
For house wear over lingerie blouse
are small boleros with short wing
like sleeves. These are made of
changeable and flowered silks that
harmonize with the skirt.
Some of the new' belts are waved
and scolloped along the edges to fit
the’ curves of the figure.
Fancy belts and girdles are made
of pompadore and shaded ribbon.
Since colored laces are in high
favor those that have done duty In
white can now be changed to some
fashionable tint.

Association of Trustees.
Pursuant to a call of all the school
Trustees of the county on the 5th
inst., J. L. Walker was elected chair
man. The body at once formed them
selves into an association of school
trustees for the county and elected
E. R. Sapoch president, and C. A. S.
Campbell secretary, for one year.
The association passed certain impor
tant resolutions to be presented to
our members of the Senate and Legis
lature, in regard to certain changes
in the school law.
The meeting w’as very interesting
and enthusiastic, and did a great deal
of good. It was decided, unanimous
ly. that it was better for the law to
bo changed so as to have elections
for special school districts at anv
time during the year, also, to do away
with book depositories in every town
ship; and it was agreed that the pro.-
ent method of handling school books
gives almost perfect satisfaction.
The next meeting will be at the
court house on Saturday before the
first Monday in Februry at 10 o’clock.
Let every school trustee in the
county be present.
E. H. Sapoch, Pres.
C. A, S. Camnbell. Sec’y.

There is no more profitable way to invest money than
to take stock in a building and loan association that is
properly conducted. This association is a local institu
tion, officered by local business men, and no risk is run by
the stockholders, as the officers who handle the finance
are bonded in a reputable surety company.
The association, although only a year old, has already
become a factor in the upbuilding of Gaffney. It is a cap
ital savings bank for a man working on a salary.
The president, secretary and treasurer, or any director
will be pleased to give information to anyone interested.
