who have been making a study of mu-

"In a tornado which passed one mile
west of Manford, Okia.. last night, two
children of E. R. Anderson wore kill
ed, and Mrs. Anderson and Miss Maud

Nineteen Pictures Were Secured by
Astronomers in Egypt.
Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 18.—Pro
fessor W. J. Hussey, the head of the
department of astonomy has just ar
rived here from Egypt where he went
to photograph the recent eclipse of the:
sun. He said:
“When the eclipse came 19 pictures!
were secured. They were made on
plates giving the sun’s diameter, a
scale of four and three-tenths inches.
“Contrary to our expectations, the
eclipse did not cause complete dark
ness. Owing to the dust in the air
reflecting light from the region outside
totality, it was from six to ten times
brighter than full moon.
“Th'* negatives made by Professor
Hussey, have been sent to the Lid: 1
observatory. They will be studied
before the results obtained by the ex
pedition will be made public.
