Mr. A. N. Wood is having a hand

now occupied by the R. S. Lipscomb
Shoe company, on Limestone street.
A child of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Whel-
chel, of Cherokee Falls, died yester
day and will be buried today at Cor
inth.
Carroll & Company. lessees, of the
Limestone Springs Lime Works, have
moved their office to the National
Bank building, on Limestone street.

Methodist church Sunday morning_and
evening. Sunday school at 10 A. M.;
preaching at 11 o’clock and 7:30, in
stead of 8 o’clock.
Water from the new artesian well is
now being used, though the well is
only about 150 feet, as yet. The break
ing of a rope has caused some delay
in the work of drilling.

ment by Miss Leontine Pirrie, the
violin instructor at Limestone College.
Miss Pirrie is a native of California.
She has studied under some of the old
masters of the Old World, and has
been associated with many < ' the cele
brated violinists in America. She is
an artist in her profession, and her ap
pearance at the First Baptist church
Sunday will be looked forward to with
pleasure by the people of Gaffney.
A Bad Bridge.
The attention of the county commis
sioners is called to the bridge which
spans Limestone branch on the road
leading from Gaffney to Pacolet. It
is reported to be in such condition
that it is difficult for a loadefl wagon
to cross it, washouts being at each
end.
