Union, July Ik.—The mass meeting to be held here next Tuesday, July ffiith. under the auspices of tin* Tem perance, Law and Order league gives promise of being quite a success, and many persons are expected from all seed ions of the county. President J. F. Caudle has been able to secure several distinguished speakers for this occasion, men who by their office and influence are do ing all they can to aid in the fight for temperance reform. One of the best known is Hon. Jos. A. McCul lough, a very prominent member of the Greenville bar. who only last year presided as special judge a - the June term of court here Another is Rev. F. C. Hickson, a wei! known minister old temperance worker of t'horokee county, who has been largely instru mental in working up public senti m nt whieit resulted in Cherokee county voting our the dispensary. He is also the man who replied to Sena tor Tillman’s famous dispensary speech at Gaffney.
