Things are very quiet in baseball
circles about Gaffney just now. The
boys went out to have a game Tues
day and for a short while played ex
cellent ball, but the game soon degen
erated into a farce and both players
and spectators became disgusted.
Blacksburg was to come over but
could not do so on account of the In
ability of several of the members of
the team to get leave of absence. The I
town boys will have a practice game;
this afternoon at Jefferies' ball park.

Completeness
It is always a pleasure to

trade at a drug store
which is complete—which
is not continually “out”
of the very thing that
■
you want; which has
grown with the demands
of the locality, and gives
customers just what they
are looking for. : :
Such a store is ours. You
do not have to ask us
twice to get a thing for
you. If we haven't it
in stock already, one re
quest is enough. We
have built up our large
trade by making o u r

Mr. McArthur and Miss Miller Joined
in Marriage Wednesday.
Wednesday afternoon at the home I
of the bride at Tirzah, Mr. W. Claude j
McArthur, of this city, and Miss Jen-!
nie Mae Miller were joined for life in;
a happy marriage. Ti e Rev. Mr. |
Greer, of Sharon, York county, per
formed the ceremony, in the presence]
of only the members of the two fami
lies and a few intimate friends.
Immediably after the ceremony the
couple left for an extended trip to re
sorts in the mountains; at the end of
which they will return to Gaffney,
where the vill make their home.
The brio is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James Miller, of Tirzah, and is
quite well ami favorably known in
Gaffney, she having been a teacher in
the graded school hen- a few years
ago. She is a very attractive young
lady, of modest mien and charming
manner, and during her stay in this
city she endeared herself to all with
whom she came in contact. The
groom is a son of Prof. W. F. Mc
Arthur, of this city, and is one of
Gaffney’s best and most popular^
young men. As an evidence of hisl
popularity and real worth, and the es
teem in which he is held by Gaffney
people, he was recently elected to]
the position of superintendent of the!
Gaffney graded schools.
No young couple has ever started I
out in wedded life with brighter hopes
and more glowing prospects, and The
l.edgtr joins with ho its of friends in
.veiling them all the happiness this
lil** affords.
Hot or cold, there is always something doing. We shall endeavor to keep our
