MRS. GOODE DEAD. Passed Away After An Illness of Sev eral Months. Mrs. Clint S. Goode died at her home in this city Tuesday afternoon about half-past six o’clock, after an Illness of several months. Mrs. Goode was a daughter of Mr. J .K. Goode, of York county, and was forty-seven years old at the time of her death. She was a native of York county, and came to Gaffney about seven years ago with her husband, Mr. Clint Goode, who engaged in business here. She had long been a consistent member of the Presbyterian church and was a devout Christian woman, a loving wife and good neighbor. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, by Rev. A. M. Simms, pastor of the First Baptist church, and the interment followed at Oakland cemetery, in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. Some of the relatives—two brothers of the deceased—arrived in the city too late for the funeral. The pall-hearers were: J. N. Lipscomb, j Geo. G. Byers, .1. D. Goudelock, R. R. Wilkins, Ed H. DeCamp, H. F. Priu- more. Mrs Goode Is survived by her hus band and stepson, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. George Hood, of this city, and Mrs. J. Holbrook Goode, of York. The Pension Money Here._ Tuesday night Clerk of Court J. Eh Jefferies received from Comptroller General Jones the check for the pen sioners of Cherokee county. The check was for $5,001.50, and is to he distributed to 205 pensioners as fol lows: Three, Class A, $90.00 each; five, Class B, $7'00 each; fifteen, Class C, No. 1, $48.Oo each; 100, Class C, No. 2, $15.50 each: twenty-five Class C, No. 3, $48.00 each; fifty-seven, Class No. 4, $15.50 each. The money Is now ready to he distributed and all pen sioners are requested to call and get their checks. M. there will he a massmeeting at the First Baptist church for men only, which will he addressed by Mr. A. C. Bridgman, of Charlotte. At 8:30 P. M. there will he union services at Buford Street Methodist church and at Cherokee Avenue Baptist church. J Good music will be furnished for the occasions.
