I 'l Mrs. GaVfney Entertains. On Monday afternoon Mrs. R. M. Gaffney, assisted by Mrs. Rosa Round- tree, entertained a few of her lady friends at flinch. Quite a pleasant time was spent. Embroidery is the chosen trimming for the modish blouse, and is more often than not accompanied by inset Valenciennes. Naturally machine em broidery is resorted to for cheaper waists, and sometimes it is really pretty if artistically designed and done on fine material, hut of course hand embroidery is the height of j daintiness ami modlshuess. * * * Miss Mignon Walker left Tuesday ; for Spartanburg to visit Miss Calvert, j Mrs. .1. Pierson have gone to Spartanburg. They will be the guests of Mrs. C. K. Gould. Mrs. Carroll Foster, of Jonesville, is visiting her parents, Dr. and Mrs. C. AI. Littlejohn. Mrs. John H. Lipscomb and child ren, of Goucher, spent a few days in town this week. Mrs. Chas. K. Gould and son have returned to their home in Spartan burg. Mrs. J. G. W r ardlaw and children left Tuesday for Yorkville, which place will be there future home. Mrs. George Blanton and daugh ter have returned to Shelby. Mrs. R. 0.
