Another Contribution.
Mr. John W. Ross came in yester
day and gave us $1.00 for the orphan
age. Who will be the next? Remem
her, the time is short, and if you in
tend giving anything we would like
for you to do so before Friday, as we
want to send off the contribution on
that day, so it may reach the orphan
age in time for Christmas.
Bank Hours.
After the first of January, both the
Merchants and Planters bank and the!
National bank will close at J o’clock;
in the afternoon every day except
Saturday, and on Saturdays they will
keep open till 5 o’clock.
Those having business with thej
banks should remember these hours
for closing.
Holiday at Postoffice.
Next Monday, the 26th, being a le
gal holiday, Postmaster Folger will
observe Sunday hours at the post-
office—from 4:30 to 5:30 p. m.
Death of Mr. Ramsey.
W. F. Ramsey, aged about fifty-
nine years, died Sunday about 1
o’clock after an illness of some weeks,
and was buried at State Line church
yesterday. He leaves a wife and two
children, a hoy and a girl.
