r
Greatest in point of sales, and even more remarkable in excellence of value. Interest increases
steadily, and each day shows a growth of trade that is little less than phenomenal. But the
values are here—that’s the secret of the store. Our sales last week here were the most en
couraging we have ever had. and we will continue the same prices with but slight variation,
because we are anxious to convert ous stock into cash. We always give satisfaction to our
customers, and assure you if you come to our store you will in the future be numbered among

A Home Wedding.
On Thursday, Nov. 3rd, Mr. C. A.
Wood, now of this city, and Miss Mol-
lie Brown, of Pacolet, were united in
marriage. The ceremony was per
formed by Rev. A. A. James, of Paco-
S let. at the home of the bride’s parents,
in the presence of only a few friends
and relatives of the bridal couple.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Cicero Brown, of Pacolet, and is
quite popular among a large circle of
friends and admirers for her personal
attractions and her many lovable
1 qualities of heart and mind.
Mr. Wood (familiarly known as
“Cuz”) is a son of the late Mr. Lip
scomb Wood, of Pacolet. He is a
generous, whole-souled young man,
and his friends are only limited by
the number of his acquaintances. He
is at present a popular salesman for
the R. S. Lipscomb Shoe Co.
Mf. Wood brought his bride to this
city, and they are at home to their
friends in a cozy cottage on East
Frederick street.
The Ledger joins a host of friends
in wishing for them a life full of sun
shine and happiness.

Fell from His Wagon,
Mr. Puckett Hammett, who lives
out on the Howells’ Ferry road, about
eight miles below the city, was in!
town Tuesday with cotton. While re
turning from the gin where he had
taken some cotton, one of the side
planks to his wagon, against which he
was leaning, broke and let him fall
to the ground, where he landed on his
shoulder. The accident occurred out'
on East Frederick street and Dr. Grif
fith was called to see Mr. Hammett,
whom he found to he suffering con-
sireably from a sprained or dislo-
lated shoulder and evidently some in
ternal injury.
The doctor did what he could for
the injured man, and Mr. Hammett
was taken home, where he is now
resting comfortably, so long as he re
mains quiet; but an effort to move
causes him considerable pain.
We hope the injury is not serious,
and that Mr. Hammett may soon re-
cover from all the effects of his fall.

Business at the city’s tribunal was
light yesterday morning. Only two
offenders, Dock Petty and Davis Pet

for "scrapping” on the street. Davis
was fined $2.00 and Dock $1.00. They
both paid—as usual.
