Cogliser, who is playing | the role of the luckless William Fuller j in "Hello Bill” this season, has been playing the part of the stern and un compromising general in Mr. Good hue's famous farcial comedy the past two years, and when Manager D. E. Barnett acquired the rights of the play this season, he immediately en gaged Mr. Cogliser to play Bill, feel ing sure that with his great knowl edge of the play and his ability as an actor, he could handle the character la tter than any man in the country. Mr. Barnett’s faith lias been more than justified as every paper where the play has been seen this year has united in declaring Mr. Cogllser’s im personation to he better than any of his predecessors, on account of the finely legitimate manner in which he handles the character. “Hello Bill” with Mr. Cogliser will be seen at the Star Theatre tonight. The management have contracted with the Western Union Telegraph Company to receive the election re turns and the same will he read from the stage during the progress of the play. Woman and Two Sons Lodged in Jail for the Crime. Mrs. Nancy Duncan and two sons, Otis and Bristow, have been arrested at Blacksburg charged with burning a barn belonging to Mrs. Dye, at or ; near that place. At the preliminary hearing held at ' Blacksburg Friday sufficient evidence i was brought out against the prisoners i to warrant the magistrate in commit- j ting them to jail to await trial at I court. It seems that the Duncans had rented land from Mrs. Dye, and that [ the alleged crime was the result of a dispute, and consequent had feelings, over a division of the crop. The arrest was made through the insurance department under the pro- i visions of the recent act of the gen- j oral assembly relative to inquiries in fires, and is the third case of its kind under that act. Sheriff Thomas went over to Balcksburg after the prisoners and brought them back to jail here.
