THE LEDGER, Published Tuesday and Friday by Ed H. DeCamp. The Ledger is not responsible for the views of correspondents. Correspondents who do not contri bute regular news letters must fur nish their name, not for publication, but for identification. Obituraries will be published at five cents a line. All correspondence should be ad- dessed to Ed. H. DeCamp, Manager. We invariably discontinue sending The Ledger when a subscription runs out, for we have no way of knowing that a person wants it except by re ceiving his or her renewal. We ur gently solicit a prompt renewal, on the ground that the paper is worth the money. We are trying month by month to make it better and bet ter. i a patriotic spirit and as many as pos sible should lend assistance toward making the occasion a most glorious one. If we Intend to celebrate let’s | do it right, and not go about it in a ! half-hearted, indifferent manner. * * * The country is going crazy over baseball, and we don’t see any r< ason , why Gaffney shouldn’t join the pro cession. Haseball is the healthiest, manliest and most scientific amuse ment before the public today. Gaff ney has some mighty good baseball material, and if it could lie arranged so that Yorkville, Kings Mountain, Shelby, Blacksburg and Gaffney could form a league and play a series of games it would furnish a great deal of amusement during the summer months.
