The evening services at Buford
Street M. E. church, South, has been
changed from 7:15 to 8 o’clock.
W. V. Humphries & Co. have their

The grass that was planted on the
lawn between the city hall and the
court hone is beginning to show up

Gaffney can boast of as many
pretty girls as any city in the State,

Thompson Robbs has built a fine
brick barn on his place in West Bu
ford street, where his wooden one
was accidentally burned a few
weeks ago.
There will be a meeting of the
Knights of Pythias next Monday
; night. A full attendance of members
is desired, as important business will
be before the lodge.
Ray LeMaster, son of Mr. Dick
LeMaster of Wilkinsvllle, came home
from Clemson College last week and
placed himself under Dr. Griffith for ,
treatment of his eyes.
The settlement of a half dozen or
more cottages built by Mr. H. L.
Spears on his property on Meadow
street, between Petty street and the
Victor Cotton Oil mill, is known as
“Ki Town.”

The Gaffney Lime Company, the
new company recently organized in
this city, has begun work on its
property preparatory to the erection
j of its kilns, buildings and a general
outfit for mining and burning lime.
Yesterday as a colored brakeman
attempted to board a shifting train
near Buford street crossing, his hold
[ slipped and he was thrown to the
track, cutting his head very painfully.
The wound is not considered serious. |
R. S. Cook has moved his big stock
of groceries into the building re-;

All outsiders who come to Gaffney
j ask about tin ore, and many of them
visit Capt. Ross’ mine. The mine is
being worked regularly now under
the management of an expert miner,
and the average daily output of ore
is Worth about $350.

the Gaffney Carpet Manufacturing Com
pany held at the office of said corporation
on April 29th, 1904, at 10 o’clock, A. M.,
for the purpose of considering the bor
rowing of money not exceeding Fifty
Thousand Dollars, and issuing therefor
notes or bonds of the Company secured
by a mortgage of any or all of the prop
erty of said Company, and also for the
purpose of electing a new Board of
Directors.

Notice is hereby given, that we. Miss
Anna Sherer and Miss Della M. Rhvne,
have entered into a limited partnership’
for the purpose of conducting a general
retail millinery, notion ami dry goods
establishment at Blacksburg, S. C.
The terms of the said partnership to
be that the said Miss Della M. Rhyne
shall contribute Five Hundred Dollars
in cash to the common stock of the said
partnership and said Miss Anna Sherer
is to contribute her services in conduct
ing and operating the business of said
limited partnership, all expenses to be
paid from gross income of said partner
ship, and that the two shall divide all
! profits of the said limited partner
ship.
