Thu Will be the Attraction at the Star
Theatre Tnenday March 3rd.
The next attraction at the Star
Theatre will be “Hello Bill.” Of the
play and players the .Atlanta Consti
tution of Tuesday says:
“ ‘Hello Bill’ thoroughly pleased
the audience at the Grand yesterday
afternoon.
“The play is that of Willis Max
well Goodhue. It is a delight ful com
edy and suffers little from having been
patterned after ‘The Man from Mexi
co,’ probably because it is better. The
story centers around William Fuller,
who is arrested on the night before
his wedding in u gambling house raid,
and who must have some excuse for
separating from his wife directly after
the wedding ceremony, as he expects
to go to jail for sixty days.
“His best man, Christopher Cut
ting, who ‘fixes’ things, ascertains
taat a commission has been issued to
another William Fuller by the United
States Government making him a
colonel of cavalry for the Spanish-
American war. He induces William
Fuller to declare that he is the man
to whom the commission has been is
sued. and therefore directly after the
ceremony he tears himself from the
arms of his wife and go-s, ostensibly
to Cuba, but really to the police sta
tion.
“Instead of being imprisoned he is
fined and for sixty days lives at ‘Mud-
ville,’ New Jersey.
“The war ends and Colonel’ Ful
ler comes home as a general. A re
ception is arranged in his honor. The
real General Fuller is informed of the
reception and goes to Seaside, Long
Island, where the entire plot is laid,
to attend. Then the amusing situa
tions b gin.
“James F. McDonald, who takes
the part of William Fuller, was fully
equal to the possibilities of his part.
Arthur L. Cogliser, as the real Gener
al Fuller, had a splendid understand
ing of his part. S. S Wilrsie, as
Christopher Cutting, was all that
could have been desired. He made a
hit.
“The others of the cast, including
Thomas S. Sprague, Gideon Burton,
Robert Watt, Miss Marion Kirby.
Miss Pauline Hickler, Miss Nina
Carleton, Miss Corinne Carkeek and
Miss Kathryn Vincent, were all good,
and did their part towards giving a
very creditable performance ”
This is a first-class production and
deserves the patronage of theatre
goers. Following this attraction
comes “Prisoner of Zenda’’ and “Old
Si Stebbins.”
