comes for three nighta beginning
next Thursday. The company is one
of the highest class 10, 20 and 30
cents organizations on the road, and
| b-sides a splendid acting company
that present thrilling dramas, have a
number of first-class specialties that
are given between the acts. The
company will present “fhe Hour of
Nine," "‘A Night in Chinatown" and
“Jesse James." The following are
some of the press notices concerning
this company:
Greensboro Telegram, Tuesday,
January 6th:—“The Teruchi-BeldenI
Company opened its week’s engage
ment at the Grand last night with a
play of many strong points, entitled
At the Hour of Nine.’ The house
was perfectly comfortable and there
! was a great crowd p*esent. Conse-
‘ quently the management of the
house was in better spirits than for
some time. The entertainment
given, as already hinted, was above
the average for popular priced shows
Miss Maud Keindollar, the leading
lady, was particularly popular with
the audience. 8he shows genuine
ability as an actress and it is per
fectly safe to predict for her a bril
liant future. Mr. James A. Devine,
the comedian, also came in for the
cordial approval of the audience.
And Mr. Theo. Johnston, another of
the important members of the cast,
should,be given especial mention.
A good week at the Grand is expected
to follow up last night’s uubpicio.s
beginning. Manager Tate promises a
warm, comfortable house, music by
the full orchestra for the entire week,
and good attractions by the Peruchi-
Beldeni Company."
Staunton Spectator, Friday, Oct.
24th, 1902:—“The Peruchi-Beldeni
Company that has been filling an en
gagement at the opera house this
week, is one of the best repertoire
companies that has visited Staunton.
Taken altogether it is very strong,
and the plays they have presented
are good, and the different members
of the company take their parts in
\ excellent manner."
Charlotte Daily Observer, Oct. 2nd,
1902:—“The Peruchi-Beldeni Com
pany played to a packed house last
night. *A Night in Chin town’ whs
the production fend it evoked liberal
applause from beginning to the end.
‘The Captain’s Mate’ will be presen
ted tonight. This is a comedy drama
of a high order."
Workmen are now engaged in put
ting in the new beating furnace in
the theatre and everything possible
will be done to make the house com
fortable. ,
