On Thanksgiving night we were de
lighted to witness a mock marriage
in the college auditorium, which was
tastefully and prettily decorated, the
color scheme being green and white.
At the end of each aisle were beauti
ful arches of white chrysanthemums,
entwined with graceful ivy vines. In
the center of the rostum was a simi
lar arch from which were suspended
the wedding bells. Just beneath this
arch stood the happy, handsome cou
ple. As the first familiar strains of
Mendelssohn’s wedding march were
heard the ushers, Kathryn Moore,
Essie Free, May Drake and Marie
McClain entered. After them came
the flower girls, Aurelia Lodge and
Annye Lou Cates. Then came Miss
Mary Durham with Volina Hamrich,
Miss Isabel Cooner with Sarah Fran
cis, Miss Eulah Cheek with Ada
Hughes. Miss Nan Nicholson with
Iris Rigsbee, Miss Vera Allen with
Nelle Dunbar and Miss Ruth Cooner
with Irene Lockwood. After these
came the maid of honor, Miss Nellie
Barton, and dame of honor, Miss El-
lie Blytb, down the aisles, crossing
at the center below the middle arch.
Immediately following these came
the bride. Miss Willye Glover, hand
somely attired, leaning on the arm
of her father, Kempie Knight Next
came the page, Bessie Rheinhardt,
bearing a silver tray on which lay the
wedding ring. On the rostum the
bride was met by the groom, Beulah
Howerton, with the best man, Marion
Satterwhite, Then the two hearts
were bound into one by the strong,
clear words of the minister.
