Notary Public in office. Prompt attention
given to all business.
A good sized congregation greeted
Rev. W. R. Potter at the Presby
terian church Sunday morning. Mr.
Potter chose for his subject '‘Temp
tation,” his text being 1st Corinth
ians 13:13 and James 1:2, and he so
ably handled the theme that many
pronounced it as the best discourse
delivered by Mr. Potter since his re
sidence in Gaffney. The subject was
divided into five sections, viz: 1st—
We may be tempted ; 2nd—We may
have fallen before temptation ; 3rd—
We may be tempting others; 4th—
We may be successfully resisting
temptation ; 5th—We may be helping
Plr FI P THOMSON ! others to overcome temptation. Each
UI.U. r. » ^ 1,1 » phaBe of the subject wa9 handled in a
clear and concise manner. The
closing was a bright picture of hope
held out to those who would resist
temptation either through force or
by will power.
A pretty feature of the service was
the duet of Mrs. Westrope and Mrs.
Eison. Their voices blended beauti
fully and the rendition was an in
spiration.
