Goudelock, a prominent planter of Gowdysville, spent Satur day in the city. Deputy Sheriff Wilburn, of Union, made an official trip to the city Fri day, Col. T. B. The professor is spend ing h's rime in Charleston in the Cin cinnati exposition building where he has charge of the Baldwin Company piano exhibit. The professor says the Exposition is grand, that it is really fine and should be seen by everyone. Wade Elmore’ of Draytonville, spent some time in the city Saturday. James Robbs, of Grassy Pond, was in town yesterday. Sylvanus Littlejohn, one of Chero kee’s good farmers, came into the eitv Saturday. E. P Richards, a prominent far mer of Algood, came over to the city yesterday. He reports farm work, backward, but wheat growing rapidly. Chris Tate, of Asbury, spent some time in the city Saturday, and called on The Ledger. John and James Gibbons, two young Cherokeeans, of Mount Paron, were in the city yesterday. John T. Ruppe, a good citizen and faithful Ledger friend of Maud, came in yesterday and renewed. Capt J. M. Hood, a prominent business man of Lancaster, was in the city Friday and Saturday. H. B. Robertson, of Gowdysville, came in to see us yesterday. Jelf Coyle, a Cherokee boy, but who is now living in Columbia, is in the city visiting his father, “Uncle Joe.” J. K Hambright and bis son,, Madison, were in the city yesterday. C. L. N. Legge, Esq. a prominent citizen of lower Cherokee, was a city visitor Saturday. Dick Foster, a good farmer of Gow- dysville, was a Ledger visitor yester day. Monro Kirby, E-q,, of Grindal, came up to the city Saturday on bus iness. County Commissioner T. J. Hames made a business trip to the city yes terday. Mr. and Mrs. Forest Porter, of Blue Branch, were shopping in the city Saturday. Guvan says harrow wheat, and ho is good authority on wheat. t “Cleve” Phillips, of Draytonville, a farmer who farms for what there is in it, and one w ho surely gets it, made a hurried trip to the city yesterday. The railroads have made u special rate from all stations in the State ap plicable for every Tuesday in April, tickets to be sold on Tuesdays only and to be good to return from Charles ton on any train leaving there up to 12 o'clock midnight of the Friday fol lowing.
