The parties who are to contribute their efforts to the success of the Gaffney factory are as strong a com bination as can be found in the man agement of a manufac turing industry. Harry E Hanson, by association with his father, partakes* of his mechani cal skill as well as being thoroughly versed iu the manufacture of fiber goods. Charles E. Kiander, who is fie agent of the company, was form- erly Ipresideut of the Walrus Fiber Manufacturing Company, of Boston Mass. ; and has practical as well as executive ability, having worked in every branch of the business from the lowest grade up. The Concert of January Ulli at Liuii-Htoue. The advance sale of pickets for the Clary Concert Company thus far has exceeded all expectations, over one hundred having been engaged already. This concert by Mary Louise Clary, John Cheshire and Celia Schiller will be the first of three entertainments to be given in the college auditorium by world famous musicians and lec turers for the benefit of Limestone College, her students, and the peo ple of Gaffney. The price of a season ticket, if pur chased during the week of Dec. 23. has been^placed at $1 50. This brings these eminent lecturers, singers and players within the reach of every per son in town. Single tickets will be sold at sev enty-five cents and one dollar each for admission and reserved seats re spectively. As we stated in our last issue tick ets may be engaged at the college or through Mrs. Geo. G. Byers. Mr. Ish&m Rishardson or Mr. Charlie Humphries. Card of ThaukK. The family oi the late W. D. Howe desire to express to the people of Gaffney their sincere thanks for their uniform kindness and many courte sies shown during the illness of Mr. Howe. While he was a comparative stranger in Gaffney he was given that attention which warms the heart and makes one feel that had he lived he would have found that his lines hud fallen in pleasant places when he took up his residence in Gaffuey to escape the ravages of a dread disease that had fastened itself upon him in a more rigid clime.
