At the last meeting of the State
Grand Lodge A. F M., in Gharleston,
Cherokee Masons received distinctive
honors. Mr. R M. Gaffney, W. M
of Grenard Lodge, of this city, w a-
placed on the committee on by-laws
Mr. H. Fay Gaffney of Grenard Lodge
was placed on the committee on ap
peals and grievances, and was re
appointed Distrct Deputy Grand
Master for the Eleventh Masonic
District. Dr. J. T. Darwin, of
lilacksburg Lodge 202. was appointed
District Deputy Grand Master for the
Fifteenth Masonic District.
These appointments are a distinct
honor to the Masons of Cherokee
; county and no other county of the
! State can boast of having so many
appointments to important positions
in the Masonic fraternity.
Marrlag-e at Pacolet.
Mr. Hilliard Kirby and Miss Bet-
tie Crocker, of Pacolet, were united

in marriage Thursday at one o’clock
at the home of the bride’s father, Mr.
Roland Crocker. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. Mr. James, of
Pacolet, after which the bridal party
repaired to the home of the bride’s
grandfather where a reception was
tendered them.
The many friends of the bride and
groom wish for them a life of sun
shine and happiness.
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Kirby and
Mrs. Mollie Marsh, of this city, at
^ tended the marriage.
