The many friends of Rev. W. H. Hodges will be pleased to learn of his return to his old charge, Buford Street church. He has been a faith ful, earnest worker among us, and his great piety and good precepts and ex amples will again be ever present ob ject lessons which will tend to our good. We extend a hearty welcome to Mr. Cantey, of the Gaffney circuit, to Gaffney, and assure him that he has fallen amid pleasant surround ings, where he will be ably supported in his good works by a true and ap preciative brotherhood. We also congratulate ourselves and especially our Blacksburg friends upon their securing the services of our old friend, Rev. N. B. Clarkson, for next year which will place him so close to Gaffney where his old friends hope to see him often while he is in Cherokee. Huggins, a native of Cherokee, but for the last two years a member of the Mississippi Metho dist Conference, has been transferred to the South Carolina Conference and assigned to Belmont, in the Spartan burg district. This is pleasant news to all Cherokeeans and all others in the 8tate, where “George” and his most excellent and accomplished wife, nee Miss Olive McKown, are known. They are of Cherokee’s best people, with all the good qualities to endear them to good people wherever their high callini; may place them. We learn they will arrive in Gaff ney next Tuesday from Mississippi, and we assure them that a hearty welcome awaits them. At Home .Au>iIn. E. L.
