of Gaffney's best people.
His fair bride is the daughter of
Mrs Wesley Lavender, and is one of
Cherokee's loveliest young women.
Her personal attractions are many
and such as to at once attract the
glance of an admiring eye. while the
charms of her heart and mind are
equally to be admired 8he is very
popular among her friends, and by
her presence she will brighten her
husband’s home and encourage him
in hie every-day work.
The Leoger joins a host of admiring
friends in wishing for Mr. and Mrs.

The Mew Iron Bridge.
Cherokee county will soon enjoy
the dietinction of building and own
ing the only bridge across Broad
river in the State above Colombia.
The Virginia Bridge and Iron Com
pany have the contract to build it
and it is to be of iron and up-to-date.
They will have their part finished by
the last of the week. The veteran
bridge worker, Capt. King, who has
the contract to bnild the approaches
will complete his work in one week
thereafter
This bridge is a necessity and will
be of incalculable service to our peo
ple. It will be a monument to those
wiio made it possible to the county
supervisor and his board of county
commissioners who took the matter
in hand and put it through, and to
all Cherokeeans, for they have en
dorsed the measure from start to
finish.

The strike of the masons is a thing
of the past, ali hands are ^strung out
on the walls now and new men have
been added to the force. A large
force of carpenters are busy putting
in timbers us the walls go up. A few
more fair days and the auditorium
will be ready for the roof timbers
and while they are being placed the
masons will run up the other walls,
then the carpenters will make a rush
to get the roof on.
