union services will be held in the
Presbyterian church, in this city,
when the different congregations in
the city will unite in giving thanks
to the Great Dispenser of all good
for the many comforts they enjoy
and the many blessings they have
received at His hands. At this ser
vice a collection will be taken up for
the poor and needy, and it is the duty
of each and every one, whether en
joying the luxuries or whether pos
sessed of only the necessities of life,
to contribute something, be it ever so
little, to such a worthy cause.

of Mr. and Mrs. Win. Starnes, for*
merly of this place, but who now re
side in the Buffalo neighborhood,
died last Thursday of bright’s dis
ease. Miss Starnes was but twelve
years old and was a great favorite
with the family. 'I he interment took
place at Buffalo Friday. Mr. and
Mrs. Starnes have the sympathy of a
