At the meeting of the choral so ciety last Tuesday work was done on the “Rose Maiden,” the new music that has been selected for one of the programs to be given next May. The music proved to be quite easy and very pretty and effective. We noticed quite a number of new members present. We understand that new names will be added to the list at the next meeting of the society which will be held to-night. The third faculty recital was given by Miss Georgia Steedly last Friday evening as announce^ in The Ledger. Her interpretations were thoroughly enjoyable. The piece by Moszkow- slci, Etincelles, was to os the most artistically rendered. It seemed to have been composed expressly for Miss Steedly, and she played it with exquisite delicacy and fine discrimin ation. The most popular number on the program was the Mendelssohn concerto in G-Minor; Mr, Maxim played the orchestral part on a sec ond piano. In her work in concert Miss Steedly surprised even her most enthusiastic admirers by her vigor ous and broad style. Miss Steedly surely won many friends and made a new and higher standard for herself iu the field of piano playing. The Limestone Musical club held its first meeting last Saturday after noon. The geaeral topic was mediae val music and the following sub- topics were treated by Mrs. Arch G. Cree, Mrs. Geo. Pratt Maxim and Miss Fanny Corrv, respectively : Out- lint of General History, the Mediae val Monk, Minnesingers and Master- singers. A very interesting and in structive meeting Is reported.
