His absence was soon discovered, however, and upon investigation the glaring truth was made manifest that he had gone with the intention of making his stay In unknown parts a permanent one. Death at all times is accompanied by more or less sorrow, but when it comes to the home as it did to the home of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Hamrick it is doubly sorrowful. About two weeks ago Helen, the bright little seven year old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Hamrick, became ill of erysipelas. All tbat loving hands and tender hearts could do was of no avail, and on Friday night the grim reaper came to relieve the little suf ferer and she passed to her eternal reward. Helen was a bright and promising little girl and bid fair to become a beautiful and useful woman, and her sudden summons is a cause of much sorrow among her little playmates and Sunday School associates. The funeral was conducted from the residence Sunday morning by Ruv. B. P. Robertson, assisted by Revs. \V. H. Hodges and C. R. Rob ertson. The interment took place at Limestone cemetery. Un Friday Dr. Hamrick received h telegram from Shelby that hii- father v a- dangerously ill. He could not go to see h i father because of the seri ous illness of his little daughter A short while after the first telegram w *.i r ed another came an iour:ce- i. g tin death of his father. Dr. Hamriek's father was Mr. C. The teachers will have holiday tomorrow in order to be present and enjoy the exeicists cele brating the fourth. On Thursday and Friday-the examinations will be held, and the final meeting will be held on Saturday, at which the results of the examinations wiil he given out and other announcements made. The County Teachers Association will also hold u short session on Saturday.
