Personal Paragraphs Vbout Our Friends Beyond the Broad. (Correspondence of The Ledger.) Blacksburg, May 24.—Messrs. A. Urquhart and J. F. Whisonant have commenced to quarry at Simm’s lime kiln and are working several hands. N. W. Cameron, superintendent of our graded school,. left Tuesday morning for his home in Maryland. Miss Florence Bell, of Williams burg county, is visiting Miss Lila Black, of this place. Miss Nell Coe has gone on an ex tended visit to Asheville, her old home. Misses Edna Healan and Willie Hardin have gone to Charlotte on a visit. Miss Iva Whisonant returned home today after spending two or three days in Charlotte. Miss Pearl Whisonant, who has been in Kershaw, is now in our place for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Mays went over to Gaffney Tuesday afternoon. Miss Lila B!..ck entertained quite a crowd of her young friends, on last Wednesday evening, in honor of her guest, Miss Bell. Mr. Herbert A. Tripp returned homo Monday night after spending some time in Pittsburg, Va. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Mays have re turned from a visit to their parents, in Richmond, Va. Mr. and Mrs. J. Cobb, formerly of this place, hut now of Hickory Grove, were in this place Tuesday night. Little Roh Withers has been quite ill for several days, but is now better. .Mrs. II. A. Briney, from Pitts- burg. Va., is visiting her mother, Mrs. Weir, of this place. L. B. R. The Last One. Mrs. Jnvous Kimbrel of this city, (he last remaining daughter in South Carolina of a Revolutionary soldier, will be an honored guest at the cele bration at I he Cowpens Battleground to-morrow.
