It will be equipped with all . odern appliances for work in its MR. JOSEPH H. CRA1CHILL. The Oi’Kitn Soloist for the May Music Fos- tlvtll. Mr. Jos. II. Cruighill, the talented organist and choir master of the First Presbyterian church of Char lotte, N. C., has been engaged as or ganist for the Musical Festival to he held May 8th and Oth. Mr. Cruig hill is not widely known as yet in this part of the country, he having come to Charlotte from New York less than a year ago. He has been trained in tire best school of organ playing and handles the instrument with good judgment anti skill. His tasteful accomplishments will add greatly to the effectiveness of the choral works. Mr. Craighill has made a favorable impression in the short time he has been in Chariotte. He has given a number of organ recitals in Charlotte and other cities of North Carolina. The following are extracts from tire newspaper notices of two of the most recent recitals. “Mr. Craighill handles the organ with great skill, bringing out every stop and combination just where it should be, and makes music that charms the ear and inspires the soul. Ife is a musical artist and renders his selections with intelligent inter pretation ; and, leaving the tempera ment of a musician, his playing is full of sympathy. Ilis technic is very fine and his registration beauti ful. Ife never interpolates h mean ingless passage, never muffles the pedals, never prolongs a trill and never forgets the grandeur of the or gan.—Dailji Observer, Charlotte, N. C. Mr. Craighill is quite a young man and plays with much precision and certainty with a great deal of ease and Iris playing was a revelation to many. He knows a pipe organ thoroughly and draws from it all there is in it.—Daily Record, Greens boro, N. C. Mr. Craighill is certainly a master of the organ, and seems to get all the melody there is in tire instrument, out of it —Rvening Telegram, Greensboro, N C. Th e large two manual organ erect ed in lire auditorium hy Mr M. I*. Muller, the organ builder of Hagers town, Maryland, is a splendid instru ment. It contains all the latest im provements in organ const rue.ion. The tone is rich and powerful and fills the auditorium easily. Mr. Craighill will be heard ns soloist dur ing the festival. But that, us has always been the case, most of our farmers will give due attention to the cereals and endeavor to make enough for home use.
