In looking through we find far too many goods and in order to reduce the stock, we are going to make things lively from now to July l st. COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES OF COOPER-LIMESTONE TUTE. INSTI- One of the Most Successful Sessions of This Famous School Comes to a Close With Appro priate Exercises. The session of lS9tf-7 of Cooper- Limestobe Institute has just come to a close with appropriate exercises. The closing exercises of the Presby terian Parochial school, colored, took place'last Thursday and Friday nights at Bethel church. Tiie first annual oration was delivered on friday night by Uev. W. M. Stenson, pastor of the colored Presbyterian Church at Spar tanburg. Tiie music was furnished by Miss Estella C. Bomar, of Spar tanburg, assisted by Wesley Jones and wife, of this city. The exercises were of the highest order and those who attended expressed their delight in the highest terms. Addresses were also delivered by Prof. W. M. Stinson, of Beaufort and Miss Bomar, of Spartanburg. The school has been in session since October 1st. and is taught by Rev. D. S. Collier under Down Went McGinty and down goes our prices. The young ! ladies acquitted themselves with cred it and made it the most interesting | on the program. The art i xhibit took place Monday and Tuesday morning from 10:110 to Id o’clock and was most creditable. On Tuesday evening at K:Jlothe graduating exercises proper took place. JtfrXext door to Davenport. Making Progress. The Presbyterian congregation not being content with tiieir recent achievements have called their pas tor, Rev. E. Robertson, for ids full time. Mr. Robertson has accepted the call and began last Sabbath even ing to devote the whole of his time to the church at this place. Three years ago Mr. Robertson came here to preach once a month, having at the game time three other churches which he served. A year ago he was called for half his time and now he is to devote all ids time to this church, n truly remarkable achieve ment in the length of time for so limited a congregation. An Ancient Pair of Scissors. While cleaning out un old book case Monday Mr. C. C. Scruggs run across u pair of scissors which were made in u blacksmith shop almost a hundred years ago.
