EASTER IN GAFFNEY.
It Took Place Last Thur»day at One :

Matrimonial Sea.
The Day Was an Idea! One—How it
Was Spent.
Easter Sunday was a dream of
loveliness, ideal in its perfection and
an emblem of the purity of the risen
Christ. Appropriate services were
held all over this broad land of ours
andjGaffney was no exception. All the
service were well attended and the
people ’generally wore happy, con
tented countenances. The singing at
all the churches was unusually
good. At the methodist church Sun
day r ight Capt. Chus. Petty editor of
the Carolina Spartan, delivered a
pleasing and instructive Easter ad
dress before a large audience. The
church was filled to overflowing and
a number of people were turned
away because of lack of room. The
Easter services at the Baptist church
Sunday forenoon was all that could be
desired. The addresses of Prof. Mack
and Griffith wore appropriate and
entertaining. Prof. Sams was pre
vented from addressing the largo
audience on account of illness.
