For the last four weeks we have been
offering the biggest shoe prizes ever offer
ed in this town. People read our advertise
ment; they came and brought their feet
with ’em, had these feet fitted and went
away in comfort. These satisfied ones told
others, and on came the cro wd to the BEL
HIVE for shoes. Shoes are our great hob
by, and we boast on having the best shoe
stock in town. . ,
Now, there are still a few pairs of Ladies
shoes left which were sold at 98c and $ 1.25
at the Boston store, our price 75c and 98c,

Women’s Polka shoes, 65c. Look in our

All this month we have been busy, be
cause our store is attractive with offerings

Mr. E. P. Jenkins, of Lithonia, Ga.,
says that his (laughter, Ida, inherited a
severe case of Eczema, which the usual
mercury and potash remedies failed to
relieve." Year by year she was treated
with various medicines, external appli
cations and internal remedies, without
result. Her sufferings were intense,
and her condition grew steadily worse.
All the so-called blood remedies did not
seem tc reach the dis
ease at all until S.
S.S. was given, when
an improvement
was at once noticed.
The medicine was
continuecd with fav
orable results, and
now she is cured
sound and well, her

she has been saved
from what threat
ened to blight her life forever.
S.S.S. (guaranteed purely vegetable)

It is a real blood remedy and always

The Surveyors at Work.
The surveyors of the O. R. & C. R.
R. strated to work Monday to survey
the new branch line of that road
from Blacksburg to Spartanburg.
The line is to conic by (Jallney, thus
giving the city the advantage of a
competing line with the Southern
railway. Work was commenced at
Blacksburg, and, although the day
was raw, good progress was made to
ward Cherokee. On with the good
work, gentlemen, for it means a
greater Piedmont section with a
greater amount of business for a
great people.
In a communication to A. N.
Wood, of this city, on the subject,
Samuel Hunt, president of the (3. It.
it C. R. R., says:
“It gives me great pleasure to be
able to say to you that our people in
the cast are very much interested in
the line projected from Blacksburg to
Spartanburg. I have, therefore, di
rected our engineer, Mr. Moles.worth,
to make a survey and advise just
what it will cost, so that we may be
able to talk business at once.”

The Municipal Election.
The time for the municipal election
draws near—next Tuesday week. The
candidates are getting in some ear
nest work. The sports are making
all manner of bets on the result, and
all in all, it promises to be a right
lively allair. Being the organ of no
man, or set of men, we will not say
which way you should vote, hut we
do say that you should be careful and
see to it that no man who has not the
welfare of the whole city of Gatlnoy
at heart should be placed in oflice.
There are good men on all the tickets.
That some are more fitted for the po
sition of city officers than the others
no one will dare deny. Vote for ary
man you know to be true to the best
interests of the city. Do your duty
as you conceive it, letting no man or
or set of men dictate what you shall
do. Take no bull-dozing from any
source, but assert your manhood by
doing as your best interests may dic
tate.
