He is reported as improving. • The bad weather last week inter rupted work on the City Hall and Wood’s building on Fredrick street. Hut they have been almost covered with workmen this week. J. It. Atkinson, H. S. Withers and Jaminie Lucas, of lllackshurg, con tributed largely to the success of the dance Tuesday night. Miss Hill is at Mrs. Hetty’s and Miss Torrence is at the Limestone Inn with the Mi Hoppers. John Wilson, one of Gastonia’s most genial young men. was in the city Monday on business. J. K. Webster, of Cowpens, was in the city Tuesday. Mayor Littlejohn was in Columbia the first of the week on business. Julian Ross, of Blacksburg, was in the city Wednesday. W. T. Thomson moved into his handsome new eight room lious. 1 , on Victoria Avenue, yesterday. \V. J. Hopper went to Blacksburg last Sunday. J. 11. Ruppe, of Maud, and I). L. Harris, of Byarsville, X. C., pai l is a visit last Monday and entered their names on the books for The Leixier. Our young friend J. A. McKown was in the city last Monday, lie ad ded another name to The Leix.kk. 1’aul G; McCorkle, representing Heath. Springs A Co., of Lancaster, was among the gay throng on the streets Tuesday. Paul is a delight ful young gentleman and his pres ence at the dance added much to its success. Park Thomson left Monday night for Arkansas, where he goes to visit friends and relatives. Mr. J. W. Jones is in Yorkville vis ing friends and relatives. Its quite a treat for the old gentleman to go over and spend a few weeks. W. W. Ruppe, of Maud, was in the city Monday on business. Mr. Ruppe is one of the best men this section affords and as a matter of fact is a staunch Ledukite. Miss Ora Thomson came home on a visit last Friday and riturncd to ; Spartanburg Monday. - - — Wc Regret to Lose Them. T. A. Camp has closed his cotton and pro luce exchange for the season and lias returned to Spartanburg to live. GalTney regrets to lose Tom ; and his efficient operator, Bert Ram sey. Tom is a genial, whole-soul gentlemen, one -who is destined to make friends everywhere, while Bert i is as clever as can be.
