ger of November 28th and December
18th will confer a favor on us by

of Gaffney do not fail to attend the
meeting at Wood’s Hall Friday night
in the interest of the graded school
movement. That’s one thing we

Ledger predicts a handsome piece of
work to mark the resting place of a
gallant and true man.
The Ledger had to make seven
orders from the type-foundry before
enough type was secured to set up
its subscription list and we have
about one hundred and fifty sub
scribers to whom the carrier delivers
the papers besides those on the
mail list. If you don’t believe it

tisers.
We don’t want your name on our
list if you intend to beat us out of a
few months or a years subscription.
We run this paper for the money
that’s in it, trying to give you full
value for your coin. If you don’t
want the paper a postal card or u
note will stop it. Don’t get on your
ear if you happen to be behind but
come in and pay up and keep in the
band wagon.
Our readers who have been looking
for Hood’s Calendar for 189(5 will be
glad to know that it is out and may
be obtained from the druggist or by

calender is certainly a triumph of art.
It represents a lovely head in buauti-
ful brown tints, surrounded by a gold
frame, embossed and decidely “up to
date.” It makes a useful ornament
for the home and a pleasant reminder
of Hoods Sarsaparilla.
The Bazaar.
The ladies’ bazaar, held last Thurs
day night, was quite a success. They
had a large attendance and the re
ceipts of the evening amounted to
more than 1)150. Among the novelties
introduced were a reproduction of tho
gypsy camp on the midway, presided
over by Miss Fannie Hopper and
Ethel Sarratt, and they did a thriving
business in*the fortune-telling line.
Miss Minnie Carroll conducted
“Lover's Retreat” in her usual
courteous manner, but the lovers all
declared the time allowed them in
the “Moorish Palace” was all too
short. Everything passed off nicely
and everybody, including Tom Camp
and “his man Ramsey,” had a good
time.
