Falls Manufacturing Company met
at Cherokee Wednesday.

Lmu Ramsey had a difficulty with
his son-in-law, John Coyle, on Mon
day which resulted very disastrously
to Lum. He is terribly bruised up.
Dr. Crawley reports the unusual,
if not remarkable coincident of five
cases of cholera morbus in one family
last week. I le says he has no recol
lection of a similar case.
B. !•'. Lemmon has resigned from
the Loafers Lnion and will organize
a son of rest and struggle for the
shade. I le thinks there is plenty of
material around (lalfney.
There will he no services at the
Baptist church .Sunday morning and
evening on account of t he absence of
the pastor. The usual Sunday-school
service will he conducted.
John A. (ieddes is the champion
truck gardener of GalTney. Ho hud
on the market on the Ith of May

which sold at 15c. a quart.
Tin* hoard of appraisers estimated
tin* damage to John Smit li's property
to he $250, but the street will not he
widened. The city is unable to im
prove streets at such a cost.
Miss Ora Ford, a student of the
Cooper-Limestone Institute, left for
her home at Mullen's Tuesday morn
ing on account of sickness. Dr. C.
T. Ford, her father, came to accom
pany iter homo.
Mrs. Shelton Sparks gave a picnic
Wednesday tit Cherokee Ford to her
Sunday-school class. Quite a crowd
of the little people went down and a
number of older ones. Tin* day was
most delightfully spent in the usual
picnic frivolities.
Tlii* fourteen-year-old son of Mr.
and Mrs. James B. Turner left the
home of his parents about seven
weeks ago and has not been heard of
since. His parents are greatly dis
tressed about him and are very desi
rous of obtaining some information
concerning him. He is dark-com-
plected and wore when he left this
place a suit of mixed material of a
grayish-brown color. Anyone know
ing of his whereabouts will be remem
bered by informing the parents at
this place. Other papers please copy.
