An Old Soldier Gone.
Daniel R. McPherson, uged about
s i x t y years, died last Sunday in
I nion County six miles below GalT-
m v alter a long illness.
Mr. McPherson was horn and raised
near w here he died, lull during his
life had lived at both ITiion and
< In st -r Court Houses. At the latter
place lie enlisted in the Confederate
Army in ('apt. NValkcrs Cavalry
company, in which he served with
credit to himself, during the war.
Mr. McPherson was a kind hus
band and father good neighbor and

lie married Miss Bellie Goudeloek
who lias a host of friends and rela-
tives in t his city .
Mr. Raines has been for the past
four or live years residing in Pick
ens, where he lias been conducting
the Pickens Sentinel, a weekly news
paper. Pickens has lost an enter
prising and honorable citizen. Mr.
Raines has the best wishes of the
readers of Titi: Li;nni;ic in his new
home.

Death of Mrs. F. E. Cole.
Mrs. F. E. Cole, of (ireenwood. S.
C. died Tuesday, the I2tli instant.rf-

sixty-eight. Mrs. Cole was the
mother of ten children, twn of wliidi
were girls, and only three of which

.Mr. Saul Camp, one of the oldest
and most respected citizens of this
section, died at his hotin —Camp s
crossroads—four miles west of this
city, last Sunday in the Nsth year of
his age. '
Mr. Camp was a consistent mem
ber of tin Baptist church, had all the
qnulitics that make a good citizen,
raised a large and highly respectable
family, hud never been sick during
his long life unt il his last illness and
died in the house in which he was
raised. He will he mourned hy a
