dren, four of whom were girls, were

A Bloody Day at Blacksburg.
Tuesday was a bloody day at
Blacksburg. There was a political
meet ing and three distinct rows but
only one is attributed to polities, ami •
that only Indirectly. A Mr. Jackins
was having a war of words with Mr.
June Thompson when Mr. Jackins’
son. at telegraph operator, came up
ami interfered, when Thompson be-
gitn cursing young Jackins ami young

stick, afflict ing a severe wound.
Another row was a negro cut bis
wife, from whom he had been sepe-
rated sometime, in the breast with a
knife ami tbeu stabbed a negro who
bad been talking to bis wife. He

without hitting either. The woun
ded imiii is in a dangerous condition.
Rip Rippy. a white man. bus a
young daughter. This young lady
was seen walking out with a married
