THIS Institution haa bfou ia operation
about two years nnd a half- It ia pleasantly
situated on an eminence about one-hall
of a mile Southwestof the town of W'adcsboro';
commanding an extensive view of the surrounding
country. There is a dwelling house
connected with the institute and occupied by
Rev. Elijah J. Morrison, ono of the Teacher , a
who is prepared to take eight or ten boarders, ^
to whose comfort, instruction and moral train- ol
ing every necessary attention will be bestowed. ;r
Tho institution is now under charge of Profy
Silas C. Lindsley and Rev. E. J. Morrison.
gentlemen who have considerable experience
in teaching. Mr- Morrison, who boa charge of
the English department, is a graduate of onr
University, ana has taught a classical school \
for many years. Mr. Lindsley, who has charge
of tho Latin and Greek department, is a gradnuto
of Princeton; was, for several vears, Professor
of Languages in the Caldwell Institute,
while situated in Greensboro', in this Stute,
and has devoted over twenty-five years of his
lifts to the instruction and training of youth.?
Both of these gentlemen are eminently qualifi- "
cd, in every respect to fill their respective positions,
and to discharge tho responsible trusts al

It is the only high Mnhj School in the county;
it has been built by tbo liberality nnd public
spirit of the citizens of Anson county. Why p
