Editor People:
Being In Barnwell on yesterday and
chancing to have a spare moment
awaiting the depsrturo of tbe train,
the thought struck me that I whuhi
look up the grave of an old comrade of
Hart’s Battery, who was killed in Vir-_
gliiie, and whoso body was brought
hereto be bulled. After n little In
quiry I found a gentleman who kindly
pointed out the spot. No .more f,al
lnut soldier ever pulled lanyard in the
many battles of tbat renowned com-
maftd than Dr. William D. Robinson,
and it made my heart feel sad to thluk
that there fie has lain in peaceful slum
ber for twenty years and no tnnrk of
any kind to Indicate the spot. My ob
ject in this fetter la to call tbe stten-
lien of the surviving members of tbe
battery in Barnwell county to tbe fact

one who gave bia life Iu devotion to a
cause which, although lost, waa sect I-

principle^ This Is one instance of raa
ny perhaps. Let our association come
together, look up those neglected
graves, and although tbe ever thought
ful hands of woman have not forgot
ten to strew fragrant flowers over their
mouldering bodies, let us place some
more permanent token of our remem
brance of tbeir dating heroism, some-
